Company Origins
In 1988, southern Thais introduced Raimund Homberg to the
SanSom crystal, a crystal now known as the famous deodorant
stone. SanSom, which means “Sour Stone” in Thai, was the
preferred body deodorant of the natives. Curious about its
properties, Mr. Homberg sent a sample back to Germany to have
it studied at the University Clinic of Erlangen. The results
indicated that not only was SanSom a very effective body-
deodorant, it was skin-friendly and hypoallergenic. Having
passed rigorous scientific testing, the deodorant stone was ready
for its unveiling. The demand for environmentally sensitive, natural
products throughout Europe led to increased exports as this
unique product caught on.
After relocating in 1991, O.E.L.GROUP CO.,LTD. upgraded its
production facility, enabling mass-production of cosmetic-grade
deodorant stones. Since then, the buzz around SanSom and our
other products has steadily grown and now they’re recognized
worldwide.

partnership with various non-profit organizations , we are able to
give back to the local Thai community and help those less
fortunate than us. The Children Village programfocuses on
educating underprivileged Thai youths and the Tree Planting
program will help keep Thailand beautiful for future generations.
